The global pandemic brought by COVID-19 completely suspends most of the import
ant events and gatherings, but it never locks the heart of a person whose overflowing kindness fills its spirit.
The dire threat of COVID-19 greatly affects those fellows who always brave the sun and the rain just to provide the daily needs of their families. The sikad-sikad and tricycle drivers of Biliran Province are also in a huge battle on how to overcome this difficult situation.
Through the KUSINA NAVALENO (Para sa mga Traysikel ug mga Sikad-Sikad Drivers), a program initiated by Mayor Gerard Roger Espina of Naval, Schools Governance Operations Division (SGOD) of Deped-Biliran, spearheaded by the SGOD-Chief Mrs. Lucille C. Roa, goes out from their usual routine of working at home as they sincerely spend their morning with the sikad-sikad and tricycle drivers by serving them breakfast mixed with pure joy and genuine love.
True enough that this small act of kindness and service doesn’t only fill the driver’s stomach but also nourished the SGOD personnel’s hearts with pleasure and delight. More so, this is a simple manifestation that “Bayanihan” culture really dwells in our community.
The happiness and gratitude felt by the SGOD Family is also extended to the Local Government Unit of Naval, led by Mayor Gerard Roger Espina, for this noteworthy undertaking and for the humble opportunity of rendering care and selfless feat to our fellows.
The deed may not be that colossal, but if paired with a kind heart, every service becomes noble.
